The short answer
Make it easy for Google and customers to understand what your business does and where it operates. Keep your website and, when eligible, your Google Business Profile accurate. Useful service information, genuine reviews and accessible pages are a stronger starting point than repeating a city name across dozens of pages.
In this guide
Start with the right business information
Check your business name, phone number, website, opening hours and actual location or service area. Information should reflect the business as it operates in the real world.
Google Business Profile eligibility depends on how you serve customers. A business customers can visit, or one that travels to customers, may qualify. Check the current guidelines before creating or changing a profile; an online-only business should not invent a local office.
Give each service a useful page
Explain what the service includes, who it is for, where it is available and how to get started. Add real examples or project evidence when you have permission to share them.
If a location needs its own page, give the reader a useful reason for that page to exist. A page that changes only the city name offers little help to someone comparing providers.
Check that the pages can be found and read
Important pages should be reachable through ordinary links, work on a phone and show their useful information without requiring a chat conversation. Use Search Console to inspect important URLs and understand whether Google can index them.
A sitemap helps discovery, but submitting a URL does not guarantee indexing or a particular position.
Build proof you can stand behind
Invite genuine customers to describe their experience, and reply helpfully. Keep published photos and work examples current. Do not buy reviews or create fake locations.
Google describes local ranking in terms of relevance, distance and popularity. A business cannot make itself physically closer to every searcher by adding more cities to a page.
